We’re about three and a half weeks into the course, and you, my friend, are doing amazing. I don’t even know where you’re at or what you’ve been doing, but I know that you’ve been doing your very best. You might be disagreeing with me right now. You might have skipped a few days or you might be feeling behind. You might not have been staring at your beautiful naked body that first week, you might have missed a few days of dancing, and you might have stared at your photo for 3 minutes instead of 5. But, guess what?

It’s ok.

You are doing the very best you can, so please acknowledge it. Almost every person I’ve worked with has struggled with being hard on themselves. Nothing ever seems to meet our own expectations for ourselves. We could always be doing a little more and trying a little harder. But I believe that easing up on ourselves, showing some compassion for our efforts, and allowing everything to be ok as it is creates the space for change. Shame keeps us stuck.

So you can do two things right now:

  1. Set your timer for one minute. Now write: I am doing the best I can. I am doing the best I can. I am doing the best I can. I am doing the best I can. I am doing the best I can. I am doing the best I can. I am doing the best I can.
    Really, one full minute. Go.
  2. And then you get to dance! Yup! It's not week 2 anymore but I bet you your body is dying for some movement. Here’s a little inspiration. It's a little throwback. :)
