Depression Happens
For A Reason

And it might not be the reasons you think. It might have a little something to do with your genetics—sort of. It definitely has a lot to do with the unprocessed emotions living in your body, and it is certainly asking you to look at your relationship to yourself.  

In this 6-week program, we're talking about the causes behind depression that you don't often hear about. We're going straight to the root, doing the deep work required to understand how and why depression is showing up in your life.

Week One
August 19th | 11am-1pm PST

Where Does it Hurt?
We're going to start out by getting a few things straight: first and foremost, there is nothing wrong with you. You're not crazy or broken. There will be no judging or shaming during this program. Instead, this is the place for you to begin to unpack your own shame. In week one, we're going to talk about the experience of depression, destigmatize shame, unpack the reasons behind depression, and take back your power when it comes to your emotional health.

We'll close with a Breathwork healing session focused on releasing shame and trusting where you're at.
 

Week Two
August 26th | 11am-1pm PST

Finding Self-Love & Worth
When you feel depressed it's the number one sign that's it's time to turn self-care mode ON. Instead, we often fight our experience, contributing to our own suffering. In week two, we're going to talk about the path to avoid unnecessary suffering, how to develop a supportive relationship to yourself, and explore self-love and self-worth. 

I'll guide you through a Breathwork healing on self-love and self-worth.
 

Week Three
September 2nd | 11am-1pm PST

Your Feelings Matter
In week three, we'll be working on processing stuck emotions that live in the body, specifically from childhood wounds but also from life circumstances. We'll primarily be working with sadness and anger, addressing where they come from, and how to work with them in an empowering way. 

Our Breathwork healing will focus on embracing and learning from our emotions.
 

Week Four
September 9th | 11am-1pm PST

Getting Clear on Purpose
In week four, you'll explore the ways you're off-purpose in your life. This isn't just about career. You might not be using your voice, in the right relationship, or making choices aligned with your soul.

Our Breathwork healing session will be focused on connecting to your intuition to guide you back into alignment. 
 

Week Five
September 16th | 11am-1pm PST

Healing Your Lineage
You might come from a family with a clear history of depression or you might come from a family who didn't talk about their emotions. The way your family line has dealt with their emotions and the beliefs they have taken on can be passed down. In week five, you'll learn that you are not a victim of your heritage and you have the power to heal your lineage.

We'll close this session with a guided Breathwork for healing your lineage.
 

Week Six
September 23rd | 11am-1pm PST

Your Tool Box
We'll end this six-week journey together by giving you a number of support tools for you to manage and heal your depression in your life moving forward. We'll also review the steps so you can begin to release your current depression and understand what depression is communicating with you when it arises again.

We'll close with a Breathwork session and Q&A.

 
 
 

How It Works

 

Each week we'll be meeting for two hours virtually. This means you can join from the comfort of your own home, and you can live anywhere in the world. If you can't meet us live because of your time zone or a scheduling conflict, you won't miss any content. Each session is recorded and will be sent to all registrants. This means you'll also be able to reflect back and use the course indefinitely. 

The first hour of the workshop will be a teaching on the topic as outlined above. There will be an opportunity for live Q&As. There will be a private Facebook group for support throughout the program.

The second hour of the workshop will be an active healing session. I am a Breathwork facilitator, and this is one of the tools we'll be using throughout the program for emotional and spiritual healing. Breathwork is the greatest, most transformative tool of my life and is a powerful introspective tool for working with depression.

I didn’t know why I was cutting my body when I was 13. Or why I felt so terrible when, throughout high school, my bubbly best friend who was living with Cystic Fibrosis would tell me to smile, "Shelly, smile!" Or why knowing that mental illness runs in my family didn’t give me any peace. 

I didn’t know why it felt so hard for me to just be me.

I never went to a psychiatrist, but if I did I’d likely have been diagnosed with clinical depression. I experienced depression throughout my life for no apparent reason. Sometimes I also experienced situational depression like when all of my friends ostracized me in sixth grade or when, two years later, one of my only remaining friends died from a sudden brain aneurism. 

It wasn’t until I was 32, when I fell into the deepest depression of my life, that I was able to understand that depression had been trying to communicate with me all along.

This program is a compilation of everything I have learned from a lifetime of depression and five years of actively healing myself. I know the immense difficulties of depression and am so honored to share my tools and teachings with you.

What is Breathwork?

 

Breathwork is a powerful, active meditation technique for self-healing. Through continued movement of the breath stuck energy and emotional blocks are released. Breathwork is the fastest way to get out of your head and connect to your intuition. For many people it facilitates an emotional purging, leaving you feeling lighter and clearer.

With continued practice, Breathwork can change your life. I say this because it has changed my life in ways I never thought possible. I've seen it change the lives of those I work with. Some of the things that can shift through working with the breath:

FAQ

Q: I've never done Breathwork before. Is that OK?

A: Yup! No experience with any healing work is necessary. In each workshop I teach you how to breathe, guide you through a Breathwork healing session, and teach you about the topic we're working with.

Q: Do I have to do the sessions in order?

A: I suggest doing them in order and then going back and doing the ones that you feel called to

Q: I'm taking medication and seeing a therapist. Does this still apply to me?

A: Whether or not you are on anti-depressants or seeing a therapist is none of my business. This program is for anyone who feels resonance with the curriculum outlined above. 

Q: I'm feeling happy now but I experience recurring depression in my life. Should I still join?

A: You are welcome to join even if you are not currently experiencing depression. This program will give you tools and insights so you can see the signs leading up to depression and begin to address the core wounds before they arise again.

Q: What if I change my mind?

A: This program is non-refundable. Please decide wisely before purchasing.

Q: Will this program cure me of depression?

A: I will never claim to be able to cure someone's depression. Healing is an inside job. My goal with this program is to empower you with the tools to heal yourself.
