BE SUPPORTED AS YOU HEAL

Uncover the root cause of chronic pain & feel like you again

Learn how to heal chronic pain, anxiety, depression, & other symptoms.

Most of the world still operates under the belief that pain only occurs when something is wrong with the body. The leading neuroscience, however, shows that the cause of chronic pain is often due to the mind-body connection. The brain perceives danger and signals the body to express pain as a way to alert you—even when there is nothing wrong with the body.

Pain is a danger signal. It is, by nature, designed to make you unable to focus on anything else. Pain takes the joy out of life. Working and socializing while in pain is awful, and it’s something many of us have had to do our symptoms moved from occassional to chronic.

After years of physical symptoms and one year of debilitating chronic pain, I finally discovered that my pain was neuroplastic (learned by the brain). My central nervous system was perceiving an emotional threat on an unconscious level and learned to respond to that threat by expressing pain in my body.

In the US over 50 million people suffer from chronic pain, and the number continues to grow. It is evident that the allopathic medical model isn’t yet willing to look at the growing body of evidence that shows a true way to heal from our physical suffering.

If you’d like to work with me to heal your chronic pain symptoms, I’d love to invite you into Ease of Being.

Ease of Being

Ease of Being is an 8-week 1:1 offering to support you in understanding the root cause of your pain, guide you through the healing process, and give you the tools to become pain free.

The healing process requires patience and commitment. The time it takes to heal from chronic pain is different for each person’s unique lived experience and relationship to life. In order to benefit from this treatment, after an initial assessment, weekly sessions are required for a minimum of 8 weeks. At the completion of 8 weeks we will evaluate your needs and continue weekly or bi-weekly.

Ease of Being includes one month free access to Divine Passage (for new members), voxer support (for the times you’re in a flare and forget everything you’ve learned), a somatic tracking meditation, and 8 weekly sessions.

After each session you’ll receive homework assignments for you to continue healing on your own. Each of our sessions will be a little different based on where you’re at on your healing and what you’re specifically experiencing. This work is a discovery process. We are uncovering what is going on in relationship to your life, brain, and body as it unfolds.

Please note that these are not Breathwork healing sessions. Sessions are available virtually, from the comfort of your home.

Ease of Being Initial Assessment

To be assessed for neural circuit pain, please schedule an assessment. This is required for all clients regardless of how certain you are that your pain is neuroplastic. The assessment in itself is a part of the healing protocol. This session lasts for up to 90 minutes to give us enough time to do a thorough intake, provide education on neural circuit disorders, and discuss treatment.

Please note that treatment begins with a commitment to 8 consecutive weekly sessions, 50 minutes each. The current exchange for treatment is one payment of $1222 or $165 per session. That exchange is subject to increase in the future. I advise scheduling your assessment only if you are financially prepared to invest in treatment.

How It Works

The formal assessment includes a process designed by Dr. Howard Schubiner (MD) to concretely assess whether or not your pain is neuroplastic. You’ll be asked a series of questions, and I’ll guide you through some exercises that will help diagnose you with a neural circuit disorder. Then we’ll speak about the healing protocol to bring you into full recovery.

These sessions are up to 90 minutes long and are non-refundable. You will be encouraged to join Ease of Being for 8 weeks once the assessment is complete and I’m certain your symptoms are neuroplastic. It is required you begin weekly sessions to make the necessary progress to heal.

*Please note that this rate is subject to increase in the future.

Neuroplastic Pain
Self-Assessment

It is always best to rule out a structural condition prior to working together. Additionally, neuroplastic pain is a paradigm shift and most physicians will correlate disc degeneration, bone spurs, bulging discs, and inflammation with pain when the pain is actually caused by the brain. As long as the x-rays and MRIs don’t show a tumor, infection, inflammatory condition, or fracture and if the neurological examination is normal to rule out nerve damage. However, please be aware that it’s possible to have both structural pain and neuroplastic pain. If you’d like to do a formal assessment, scroll down to book a session.

This is a list of common indicators that symptoms are due to neuroplastic pain. You may experience a couple of these or most of them.

No injury: The pain appeared out of thin air or the injury healed but the pain persists. Soft tissue injuries typically heal within a few weeks and broken bones within a few months. Pain beyond that timeframe is likely neuroplastic.

Inconsistent: The pain turns on or off or migrates to a different part of the body that is not consistent with structural pain. For example, if you break your arm it’s going to continue to hurt in the same spot until it is healed. Neuroplastic pain can move from your arm to your neck to your back sometimes within a few minutes which means it is likely caused by the brain.

Triggers: Your symptoms switch on or off based on innocuous stimuli like the weather, certain foods, time of day, stress, or scents. The brain can become conditioned to perceive danger in association with specific stimuli triggering your symptoms. Structural pain does not operate this way.

Multiple symptoms: You have several symptoms at once, especially ones that are difficult to explain. You have symptoms that swap out. One day you have digestion issues and when that goes away you get headaches.

Delayed onset: You experience pain after a delayed period of time post activity. For example, your back begins to hurt the day after you go on a long hike but not during the hike.

Pain emerged during stressful time: If your symptoms first emerged when you were getting married, going through a breakup, lost a job, moved, or some other stressful event it can onset neuroplastic pain as the brain is more likely to be on high alert.

Personality traits: People who embodying the follow personality traits are more likely to experience neuroplastic pain because these ways of thinking lead to us feeling unsafe, repeatedly putting the brain on high alert.

  • Perfectionist

  • People-pleaser

  • Anxious/Worrier

  • Controlling

  • Self-critical/Low self-esteem

Adverse childhood: Children who grow up in abusive and challenging life circumstances have brains that are primed for neuroplastic pain when a triggering event occurs later in life.

Highly Sensitive: People who are highly sensitive have brains that are predisposed to neuroplastic pain because the brain can easily be wired for danger.

My Story

This is is a long form video where I share how my discomfort turned into chronic pain.

Love for Ease of Being

“Recently, I completed Michelle’s new course, Ease of Being, which ended up being the most unexpected and extraordinary journey of profound emotional, psychological, and physiological healing. When I enrolled, I remember feeling called to the course because, even though I have had little physical pain throughout my life, I had suffered from longterm, unhelpful, psychological patterns/perceptions which drove a lot of emotional pain, despite years of therapeutic work, meditation, mindfulness training etc..

The sudden shift I experienced happened within the first few weeks of Ease of Being, and I believe it was due to both the qualities Michelle has developed and emanates as a healer/teacher, including: a compassionate steadfastness that enables her to hold space like no other; a wise and deep clarity; bright intuition; and a capacity to hold others in true loving acceptance. And also the content and structure of the course itself, which I found to be so unexpectedly easy to follow and implement in my daily life. Easy yet profound!

From my own experience, I highly recommend Michelle’s course, Ease of Being, to anyone who feels at all called to work with their cycles of pain.”

FAQs

  • These are common signs that your pain is neuroplastic:
    - You can review the self-assessment above or schedule an assessment with me.

  • As we approach the 8 week mark in Ease of Being we will assess your pain levels and whether or not you need ongoing support. Clients may continue with bi-weekly or monthly sessions or may be recommended to begin a Breathwork practice to deepen their capacity for feeling and processing the repressed emotions contributing to pain. If you feel complete after 8 weeks you’ll have the tools you need to continue self-healing.

  • I’m certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy which is focused on relieving neuroplastic pain through exposure therapy. I’m double certified through The Pain Reprocessing Therapy Center with Alan Gordon and through Freedom From Chronic Pain with Dr. Howard Schubiner.

  • Ease of Being does not include Breathwork healing sessions, though you are welcome to add on these sessions throughout our time together. You will receive one month complimentary access to Divine Passage which includes over 35 guided Breathwork meditations to deepen your healing. In Ease of Being we are primarily focused on changing you relationship to pain.

  • I’m certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy and have over a decade of experience supportng people in learning how to feel safe with their emotions. I am also a certified Breathwork facilitator through David Elliott’s lineage. I have been through the chronic pain healing journey myself and have also healed myself from chronic anxiety and depression. The self-healing process is, I think, the greatest credentials we can receive.

  • Our sessions are a combination of education, discovery, experiential practice, and mindset work. Much of what we will be doing together is pinpointing where you need to place your attention exactly and how to apply the work to your life. It’s about what is emerging for you specifically in relationship to the work needed to reduce or eliminate symptoms. That is unique to the person and will reveal itself during the process. After every session you’ll receive homework assignments to continue to implement what you’ve learned in the session into your life.

  • There is no way for me to answer that because it depends on how you respond to the work and how you move through the expected challenges of changing your relationship to your pain. This is not quick fix work. I require an 8 session commitment because it takes time to rewire the brain and fully grasp the mindset to find success. At that point some people choose to work on their own, while others continue ongoing work with me at an interval that is best for their healing journey.

“If your mind naturally goes to despair, it's not because your situation is dire, but because you have developed strong neural pathways for despair.”
